**Novena for Life** … please take a couple of minutes from Sunday, October 10th, through Monday, October 18th, to include this Gospel of Life prayer as you pray daily. Thank you and God bless!
Celebrate the Gospel of Life
O Mary, bright dawn of the new world, Mother of the living,
to you do we entrust the cause of life:
Look down, O Mother, upon the vast numbers
of babies not allowed to be born, of the poor whose lives are made difficult,
of men and women who are victims of brutal violence,
of the elderly and the sick killed by indifference or out of misguided mercy.
Grant that all who believe in your Son may proclaim the Gospel of life
with honesty and love to the people of our time.
Obtain for them the grace to accept that Gospel as a gift ever new,
the joy of celebrating it with gratitude throughout their lives
and the courage to bear witness to it resolutely, in order to build,
together with all people of good will, the civilization of truth and love,
to the praise and glory of God, the Creator and lover of life.
Worthy Brother Knights,
This is the last week for sales and return of the PSU/OSU raffle tickets.
The drawing will be held before the business meeting on Thursday, November 7 at 7 pm.
According to the rules for the raffle: “All ticket stubs returned must include full payment no later than 3 PM on November 7, 2019. Valid ticket stubs must include name, and either full 10 digit phone number or e-mail address.”
Do not bring any tickets to the business meeting—it will be too late!
If you need to arrange a pickup of tickets, please let me know.
Thanks and God bless,
Kenneth A Yunker
Final turn-in for the Football Frenzy tickets is this week.
All tickets need to be received by the State Committee before October 27; therefore, Marysville Council 5534 needs to send these in first thing, Thursday, October 24; i.e., all tickets need to be in my hands by Wednesday evening.
As the envelope says,“ Mail before October 21” – that is TODAY.
For the PSU at OSU raffle tickets — sure send them in now, ALSO! As stated in the rules for this raffle, all valid tickets need to be received by November 7 at 3 pm.
Thanks and God bless,
Kenneth A Yunker

The next litter pick-up is scheduled for Saturday, October 5th. Please contact Marty Logsdon (email@example.com
or at 937-243-3184) if you can help. Alternatively, you can sign up online using the Sign-Up Genius link below (even if you are far from being a genius).
We will meet at Falvey Hall between 8:30 and 8:45 am then proceed to US 33 between mile markers 15 and 17 in Union County to actually start the litter pick-up at ~9 am. Alternatively, you can meet us at the rest area – but please inform Marty if you plan to meet us there.
The more of us who can help, the quicker the job gets done! ✅ ✅ ✅ We hope to have least 14 brother knights and adult family members to help – even better if we can get 18 or more!!!
Thank you for your kind attention to this message.
Yours in Christ!
KofC Marysville 5534 Service Program Director
Last fall, a group of Bridgettine sisters moved into a building adjacent to Holy Family to set up a convent. With that, we need at least 10 brother knights to help out with three outdoor projects around this church just west of downtown Columbus, including:
- reattaching a railing that needs reinforcing to the brick – this will require some epoxy, since the original holes are mostly blown out;
- cutting down a wall that is relatively high and is blocking a window of the convent; and,
- moving a green picket fence and gate from its current location of being next to a carport to a new location to surround their garden to keep groundhogs out – a good many of the posts could be cut off at ground level and mounted with brackets to the wooden frame bordering around the garden.
Please bring tools such as cordless drills and drivers. Additionally, it would be ideal if someone can bring a reciprocating saw.
We will meet at the parking lot at Our Lady of Lourdes no later than 8 am on Saturday, July 20th, and will then carpool down to Holy Family. We should be back by the same afternoon if we have enough help show up to complete these jobs.
If you are willing to help out, please contact Jim (elcherts @twc.com or 937–597–0579). Please refer to Jim’s e-mail message that he sent out on Monday, July 1st, for more details.
Thank you and God bless!
Just a quick update to let you know we are at a total of $2,775.00 in pledges and donations, with our deadline being Thursday’s council meeting (December 6th).
Thank you to all who have donated so far. Let’s have a really big push here at the end and be a big help to the families and to the people at Corpus Christi/St. Ladislas!
You are all amazing and have always come through.
This is a reminder that we are conducting our prayer vigil as part of the Fall 40 Days For Life this coming Friday, October 19th, from noon to 3 pm. This will be held at the Planned Parenthood East Columbus “Surgical Center” at 3255 E. Main Street, Columbus, OH 43213. Parking is available at public side streets (the Greater Columbus Right to Life organization recommends W. Hampton Avenue – do NOT park at the pregnancy center parking lot or other adjacent business parking lots). You do NOT have to stay for the entire 3 hours – come and go as your schedule allow – whether that’s 3 hours, 2 hours, just an hour or even just half an hour. Our collective presence and prayers do matter and do make a difference. The abortion clinic that we Knights used to hold this prayer vigil at along N. Cleveland Avenue closed down. More recently, the women’s health center where we’ve had this prayer vigil at along E. Broad Street for the last 3 or 4 years also closed down earlier this year. This Planned Parenthood facility on E. Main Street is the remaining facility that provides abortion services in Central Ohio, and please help us in praying that it, too, shuts down its abortion services. Please contact our Worthy Grand Knight Brad Blumberg or Past Grand Knight Fred LaFrance for more details. Hope you can join us there and then.
This is a reminder that we will have our fourth and final litter pick-up for our Adopt-A-Highway service project on Saturday, October 6th.
- meet at Falvey Hall at 8:30 am
- proceed to US 33 (rest area in Union County) ~8:45 am
- commence litter pick-up at 9:00 am
- complete the activity in about an hour or so (depending on number of volunteers hope to get AT LEAST 14 – hopefully, even 18 or more)
- adult family members (18 years or older) are welcome
PLEASE contact Marty Logsdon (firstname.lastname@example.org or 937-243-3184) to indiate WHETHER OR NOT you can help out with this activity. As of Tuesday, October 2nd, we only have 3 brother knights who have signed up for this activity.
We need at least 5 to 7 more brother knights and adult family members to help with the trash pick-up this Saturday, May 5th. Meet at Falvey Hall between 8:30 and 8:45 a.m. We hope to finish before 11 am – much earlier if we get more brother knights to help out!
